Week 4 Photos: Flat Space

I love my Buddha. I decided to get up really close to him and make it so only he was in focus. I liked the contrast and line the background created behind him.

This is all the medication I took this week and it’s how I got through this week (and every week for that matter). I love the different colors and shapes of the pills along with the randomness of their placement.

When I was going through my clothes I realized just how many shoes I have. I thought it would be interesting to take all my left shoes (it's my dominant side) and organize them into a circle in similar colors.

The sky was so beautiful this week. I loved the the orange against the blue. I decided to show mostly sky since we were talking about how everyone thinks sky is deep but how it looks flat on camera.

This is in the second floor of the hfac. I see this most every day but when I had my camera in my hand I saw it in a different light. I liked the pop of color with the red.

  1. I love the reason why you took the blue sky photo. Funny! The medication photo also fascinated me. It made me wonder what it would look like if everybody collected all of the medications that they have taken over the years and took a picture of it. It would probably fill a room.

  3. This week seemed like a huge insight into the life of Britany. The disorganization of the pills (which i'm sure are normally heavily organized), and the organization of the shoes (which may not be organized usually?) were a really neat idea. And flat for that matter.

  4. Photo 2 created a great texture out of the random scattering of pills. The coloring is really nice and the space is flat but also complex and interesting. Nice work.

  5. I love the first photo! The contrast directs my eye right to him. Also, the framing of how you kind of split it into halves is awesome. I like the shallow depth of field too. I think it's simple and well executed.
