Every winter I bring out my glass snowman. This year I put it on my night stand next to my clock and I noticed the upside down reflection is makes in the head and I thought it was a cool picture. Almost like the time is ticking until winter is over.
When I went out to get the mail I liked the frame the box made. Because the box was so dark, the outside was more blown out then I would have liked. Also if I ever retook the picture, I might have done a deeper depth of field.
As I'm sure you are all aware, it's the middle of January and my roommate hasn't but away her mini Christmas tree. The day I took this it was a sunny day which I thought contrasted nice to how you normally see Christmas trees.
This week I went to Husk’s Kolaches for the first time. It was also the start of the Provo open house so of course people went to both. I loved the old spring colored fence contrasting the fancy dressed family in winter.
Walking home late on Thursday I heard some weird sounds and saw three deer eating. I thought it would be a good opportunity to take a picture... I was wrong. I only had my phone to take the picture, it was super dark and hard to see anything and the closer I got the more I made them nervous.
That first photo of the snowman is really cool. There is a ton of depth to it, and it makes the subject feel both powerful and ominous.

ReplyDeleteI really like the ingenuity of photo #1. Your creative thought process feels smart and inventive, and I really appreciate the way you took two fairly regular objects and transformed them into something alien and special. Nice.
ReplyDeleteThe picture at the Kolache store is interesting to me because I love the shapes, color, and affinity in it. The overall color makes me feel warm and it has a contemporary feel to it. The colors of the umbrellas are fun and they pop. The affinity with the chairs and the tables creates a cool rhythm within the picture.
ReplyDeleteThere is some really cool stuff going on in the first photo. It actually took me a second to realize what I was looking at. I love the upside down reflection of the clock, and I love the use of focus. The fuzzy red background contrasts nicely with the white, see-through snowman.
